An unusual succulent with geometric, fleshy leaves which emerge from a central rosette. If you like this kind of chunky succulent you may also like Lithops & ‘Ice Plants’.

Like other succulents, you are most at risk of damaging this plant by overwatering it. Resist the urge to over-care for your ‘Elk Horn’, allow them to dry out completely between waterings.

Care:

Light: Bright sunlight will promote even growth, vibrant colours and bold patterns.

Water: Avoid watering in Summer unless they become very wrinkled (in which case give them a small amount of water), this is their dormant period and they will not grow.

Water thoroughly at the start of Autumn when you notice the first signs of fresh growth or a flower developing. For the rest of this season water when the soil is completely dry.

Avoid watering in winter whilst your ‘Living Stones’ are shedding their old leaves.

Resume a normal watering schedule in spring, allowing the soil to dry out.

Food: Not a requirement but if you choose to; use a light cacti fertiliser in Spring.

Humidity: Will thrive in low humidity.
